Who’s behind Sissy’s Sourdough?

Hi, I’m Nicolette! You can call me the Bread Lady.

Sissy’s Sourdough was born in my cozy home kitchen in Mission Hills, San Diego in January 2025. Just a few months earlier, in October 2024, the love of my life proposed to me—and with an entrepreneurial spark (and a wedding to save for!), I decided to take a leap and share my sourdough creations with the world.

Cooking has always been my love language. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching people enjoy something I’ve made with my own hands. What started as baking for family and friends has turned into a passion that brings me so much joy—every loaf, every bite, feels a little bit life-changing.

At Sissy’s Sourdough, I keep things simple: minimal, whole ingredients that are both delicious and nourishing. The name “Sissy’s” comes from my favorite person—my little sister, Courtney—who has always called me “Sissy.” It’s a name filled with love, and I couldn’t imagine a better one for this little sourdough dream.
